About Me
Do Not Friend Me IF you have Nothing to Say.
I have taken photos since I was in high school but, I have also studied photography in the classroom for the past 4 years. I can do my own dark room and digital-darkroom work. I still use film on occasion and have two 35mm cameras and one medium format camera, a Zeiss Ikon from the 1940s, and two Sony digital cameras (one that can take infrared shots) and a handful of lenses. In addition to photography classes, I have also taken Photoshop classes and several drawing classes and two painting classes and studied art in Europe, as well as here. The art classes I find enhance my photography and vice versa, in effect, they both feed and feed off each other. Regarding art work, I have received a letter from John Paul II thanking me for my artwork. This has been the highest honor of my life. I've photographed models and a rapper and have done weddings and graduations, and yes, I've been paid. I have also done a lot of experimental photography, strobe work and some macro photography. I am truly finding myself in the renaissance of my life. When I work with people, I generally use natural/ambient light, but I also like to use infrared light, candle light, etc. and strobes. I also typically use old school techniques, even with digital cameras, to the point of going fully manual in most situations - it often looks better and generally takes less time in Photoshop or Lightroom. Why I am here: I am looking to make my photography move from just my passion and financial sideline to my main income. That said, I'm primarily here looking for paid jobs, but don't let that scare you. I charge reasonable rates according to ability to pay and if you have something to offer that I want. Regardless of what I get paid, or if it's for trade, everyone gets a CD - you do, however, have to credit me for any photos that you use. On paid shots, if needed, I can bring an assistant (I have a female and a male that I can use). Also, if there's enough pay, I can provide a makeup artist. If you are new, or broke (the two generally go together), don't be discouraged. If you have an interesting idea and can show me that you can execute your end of it, I'll work with you. I like collaborations that lead to something beautiful and moving. That, for me, is quid pro quo. Also, I'm fascinated by classic feminine beauty and equally so by women who are unquestionably beautiful and yet in a way that is outside the common narrow idea of beauty (think, Sophia Loren). This is a project I would like to put together for publication. Of course, if I solicit you, then I would generally expect to not be paid beyond trade. So, if you like what you see and think you want that in your portfolio, then let me know and we'll work out an arrangement that is a mutually beneficial deal. Contact: Contact me first through here, then maybe we can email, then talk on the phone. Friending me: I don't friend just everyone. Have something to say, first.
