About Me
A modus operandi of mine, that is, the printing technique I employ to create my images, is called oil printing and it isn't something I personally invented. True, this process is quite old: its origins go back to 19th century. For me as an artist, to adopt this expressive method was a fully conscious move, made after four years of shooting digital photography and another four years of shooting various types of film stuff. I believe that modern photographic industry suffers a lot from overloading with sophisticated technical tools and instruments. When one asks himself "What camera should I buy?" before another, way more important question "What do I want to take picture of?", society has an aestetic issue. To me, this is a sign of the death of photography as an artistic phenomena.
So, as a reaction to the overwhelming "technologism", I chose to create my works by hand. This often results in a print which is impossible to reproduce even for the author himself. I call this substantial non-reproduceability of the work of art a singularity. Verified Credits (0)Worked with Alexey Sonar? Share your experience and become verified! Add Credits
