About Me

Well I guess I can say a little something about where I am trying to go with my photography. I am usually a Landscape Photographer however I am trying to incorperate Landscape elements into my Personal Photography. Which usually means long hikes into locations to get the right backgrounds and lighting. I also take pictures of Models in unusual wavelengths. I tend to take photos in the Ultraviolet or the Infrared sections of the spectrum.

Currently I am trying to focus on the 100nm-1400nm and the 250nm-380nm Part of the Spectrum. Using the properties of the various wavelength bands to create something that may not be unique, but it should be somewhat rare.

While I think that glamor and fashion shots have their place I am starting to lean towards the idea that models should not be endlessly caked in make up to get rid of every imperfection. Nor should the image be so completely manipluated in photoshop that a person appears as a perfect being. It is my current understanding that images should emphasize the flaws that make us different as opposed to the one idealized view of "perfection" that everybody seems to be driving for.

Another thing that I think begins to set me apart is that the vast majority of my work is done with large format film (4x5 Negs or slides), of course to get it into the computer I have to scan them but I try to avoid digital manipluation (and DSLRs) as much as possible, the exception to that being my IR and UV work because they discontinued Kodak HIE and I dont think there was a UV only sensitive film.

A new update! Ive been getting into time lapse photography lately, While I question if it is actual a form a photography (Because while it is raw images being taken, there is the after procecsing into movie format) It is never the less interesting so if you express an interest in working with me on some time lapse photography, let me know!
