March 12, 2009 3:57am This is so sensual and elegant. I love it. When I saw this, I thought of a poem I wrote a long time ago, comparing life to music:
Every life is music,
Each song itself unique
That tells the story of your life,
And of the dreams you seek.
Every moment spent in time,
Every road you trod,
Giving witness in each note
Thatâs lifted up to God.
What kind of tune will your life play?
What message will be told?
What kind of score will each day write?
What will the notes behold?
What instruments will play the tune?
How will the tempo go?
Will it be played allegro, or
Will it be taken slow?
Will it speak of tragedy,
Or life given away?
Will the cadence of your song
Say all there is to say?
What motif will the tune foretell
In how you passed along
The music that made up your life
And played out your song?
Will it serenade the heart
Of someone else who knew
The ballad that made up your life
And tells all about you?
Will the theme crescendo,
Or fade as time goes by?
Or will a sweetened melody
Make up your lullaby?
Can you say now your opus
Tells what youâd have it say?
Or does some work need yet be done
Before itâs time to play?
And when the last note has been writ,
And the pen is put away,
What kind of eulogy be left
In what your tune will say?
What witness will each note behold
Whether short or long,
Will it be a symphony,
Or simply just a song? â CJF 1/24/99
